Can the Speed of the Coil be Adjusted During Upending Operations on a Coil Upender?

Cherry's Industrial Upenders are the perfect cost-effective solution for any material handling operation that requires tilting heavy loads safely or that wants to rely less on human labor. This reduced space requirement can increase the number of coils you can store in a designated floor space. These dump trucks and coil dumps are perfect for facilitating the loading or unloading of containers, and are ideal for dumping products in shipping and receiving operations. In steel warehouse and service center environments, coils are often stored with the eye in a horizontal position.

To change the orientation of the eye from horizontal to vertical or from vertical to horizontal, coil turners can be used. Feeding a new coil through the straightener is done without opening the head of the straightener or altering the depth settings. Coil reels are used in most unwinding and rewinding applications, mainly because they inherently avoid material deformation problems. Straighteners are generally placed near a non-motorized reel to extract material directly from the coil.

It can be equipped with a variety of drive and braking systems, combined with coils, pinch rollers, electric straighteners, armrests, rolling mills, or be configured as stand-alone systems. The products designed to handle coils in this position are C-hook type lifters and clamps for two-arm coils. A motorized V-saddle (top right) can smoothly move a coil and adjust it to the pallet before tipping it over. This prevents the coil from slipping while tilted.

The integrated anti-clamp sensors provide additional protection to the coil and the locking limit switch prevents the legs from opening inadvertently during lifting. The optional equipment available for the helical grip includes urethane padding to provide additional protection to the coil, an integrated load scale to accurately measure the weight of the coil and a photoelectric sensor to simplify foot alignment. The legs of the telescopic lift are opened and closed by means of a chain-driven system, allowing an infinite adjustment between the minimum and maximum width of the coil. If you're not sure which coil handling system is best for your operation, contact an experienced manufacturer of rapid lifting equipment who can quickly evaluate your operation and determine the best equipment for your coil handling needs.
